Advisory Board
The Advisory Board was formed in 2017 (as the GWC Steering Committee) to establish a framework and foundation for GWC, including determining core values and activities of GWC, membership criteria, guidelines, name and logo adoption, initial publicity for and planning of events, etc. The Advisory Board continues to provide leadership, vision, guidance, and governance to Greenwood Women Care for stability and sustained growth.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee provides timely and informative internal and external communications to GWC members and the community via written and electronic media. Internal communication includes photographing GWC events and building community among members. Communication initiatives developed for the general public include announcing upcoming quarterly meetings and socials as well as dispersing information concerning the affairs of the organization.
Governance & Finance Committee
The Governance & Finance Committee periodically reviews the GWC Governing Document and recommends proposed revisions to the Advisory Board, on its own motion or at the request of the Executive Committee or Advisory Board. The committee regularly reviews income and expense activity of GWC and annually recommends a proposed budget to the Advisory Board.
Grants Review & Awards Committee
The Grants Review & Awards Committee orchestrates the grant-making process for Greenwood Women Care. The committee accepts grant applications and reviews them for completion ensuring all grant guidelines have been followed. The committee develops methods for reviewing and evaluating the grants before presenting a slate to the GWC Membership. The committee will provide a process for voting, recording the votes, and announcing the final results to the GWC Membership.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee develops and implements strategies for membership recruitment, retention, and satisfaction. The committee plans membership-related activities, such as orientations, recruitment gatherings, and outreach.
Programs & Education Committee
The Programs & Education Committee provides informational programs and ongoing GWC education at gatherings of the GWC Membership. The committee identifies community programs to spotlight, recruits speakers, secures meeting venues, obtains audiovisual equipment as needed, and works collaboratively with the GWC leadership to organize an effective agenda. The Programs & Education Committee may provide additional educational items of interest to the Membership.
Social Committee
The Social Committee plans social activities for GWC members and assists the Programs & Education Committee in organizing and planning for effective meetings. Duties include identifying venues, recruiting and acting as greeters and hostesses, and planning and serving refreshments as well as updating the GWC Facebook page and Instagram account.
