Greenwood Women Care is committed to learning about needs and opportunities in Greenwood County and supporting nonprofit organizations that serve Greenwood County residents through our GWC Grants.

GWC Grant Application and Process
PLEASE NOTE:
Applications for 2023 GWC Grants will be accepted from August 1-31, 2023.

Information sessions for GWC Grants will be held on Thursday, July 13, from 11:00 am – noon, and on Tuesday, July 18, 4:00 – 5:00 pm, in the GCCF conference room at 110 Phoenix St. Those interested in applying for a 2023 GWC Grant are strongly encouraged to attend one of these sessions. Email gwc@greenwoodcf.org to register.
Grant Writing 101, a workshop offered at no cost to participants representing local nonprofits, will be held on Tuesday, July 25, from 9:30 am – noon. This workshop will include a Funders’ Forum with representatives from local grantmaking organizations. Although there is no charge for the workshop, space is limited and registration is required. Up to two persons per organization may attend. Registrations will be accepted starting July 1. Please email gwc@greenwoodcf.org.

GWC Women’s Health Grant
Greenwood Women Care (GWC) is pleased to announce a new grant initiative for this community. The GWC Women’s Health Grant will be offered in the first quarter of every other year, beginning in 2021.
The GWC Women’s Health Grant will support holistic care and health education to improve physical, mental, or social health and well-being. This grant is funded by a Field of Interest Fund endowed by Jim and Denise Medford and held by the Greenwood County Community Foundation.
The GWC Women’s Health Grant subcommittee developed the granting and evaluation process for this grant award. A single grant will be made to an organization working to improve women’s health. The anticipated amount of the award will be announced for each cycle. Funded projects should occur between April 1 of the current year and April 30 of the following year.
The 2023 Women’s Health Grant cycle has concluded.
Those serving on the Women’s Health Grant subcommittee for the 2023 cycle are: Marilyn Murphy (chair), Kelly Addy, Anne Craig, Alice Hodges, Sally Kauffmann, Jan Puzar, Karen Smith, and Mary Woodiwiss.

GWC Grant Writing 101
Grant Writing 101, a workshop featuring professional presenters and practical information on completing effective grant applications, is offered annually at no charge to local nonprofit staff and volunteers. Please see details of this year’s workshop in the Grant Application Process section above.
